In 2001 Jae Yahkèl had a (near) fatal car accident. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the first responders.
Luckily, the fatality squad that came to take his body to the morgue noticed he had a faint pulse. With both of his ankles crushed and feet completely turned around, frontal lobe traumatic brain injury, and a “Hangman’s Fracture” (the same broken neck spinal injury as Superman, Christopher Reeve), he spent 2 weeks in a coma fighting for his life.
The doctors weren’t optimistic and after he woke up from the coma, he heard the worst news: “I was going to live but would be confined to a wheelchair. At 19 years old, with my whole life ahead of me, death seemed like the better option.”
His inspiring story had so many ups and downs and it’s a true definition of a hero journey.
Get ready for a boost of hope and determination.
